Shelley G. Early MOT, LOTR
Shelley received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Family and Child Studies with a concentration in Child Life, from Louisiana Tech University in Ruston, LA in 2005. She received her Master’s degree of Occupational Therapy from Louisiana State University in New Orleans in 2013. Shelley has been a part of the NeuroTherapy Specialists, Inc. team since June 2013. As a student, she completed her final fieldwork at NeuroTherapy Specialists, Inc. and completed other rotations in: general acute, intensive care unit, neonatal intensive care unit, in-patient rehabilitation, out-patient neuro, and mental health. Her experience has been enriched by annual continuing education courses including: Sensory Integration Intensive, Integrative Listening Systems, and Early Intervention treatment.
She is a Certified Child Life Specialist, with experience working in children’s hospitals helping children and families cope with the stressors of hospitalization, surgery, new diagnosis, and grief and bereavement. As a Child Life Specialist, she worked in a variety of settings, including: pediatric intensive care unit, general pediatric unit, transplant unit, surgery center, emergency room, adult intensive care unit, and neonatal intensive care unit. While working with many different disciplines within the hospital, she sparked an interest in Occupational Therapy.
She enjoys spending time with her husband, Brian, and family & friends. Some of her interests include: painting, drawing, cooking, and playing with her dogs Oliver and Cocoa.
