Pediatric Dysphagia Therapy

Pediatric Dysphagia Therapy

Speech therapy encompasses difficulties that may occur in the oral phase through the pharyngeal phase during feeding and swallowing functions.  We provide feeding and swallowing services to children who demonstrate difficulties with lip closure, bite and chew, tongue coordination to form a bolus, tongue base retraction, delayed swallow, etc.  Some therapy methods that are used are oral motor exercises of the lips and tongue and the chewing hierarchy.
